The planning team have gained planning permission on behalf of Churchfield Stone Ltd to establish a building stone quarry to the west of Oundle, East Northamptonshire. The quarry will extract Blisworth Limestone blockstone, Oundle variety, to produce decorative quoins, lintels, fenestration and flooring. The material has been unavailable on the market for a significant period of time and its reintroduction is considered a valuable addition to the natural stone market. The stone from the new Stonepits Quarry will supplement the Blisworth Limestone walling stone material that is extracted by Churchfield Stone Ltd from the Harley Way Quarry. The extracted stone from both quarries will be processed at Churchfield Stone Ltd’s Harley Way Stone Processing Yard and will enable the company to supply the market with a wide range of Blisworth Limestone building stone products. G P Planning Ltd previously gained planning permission for the Stone Processing Yard and the Harley Way Quarry in response to Churchfield Stone Ltd’s requirement to expand into the English Natural Limestone market.
