Having successfully obtained Planning Permission for several Anaerobic Digestion facilities in 2013, we are delighted to announce that we have been shortlisted as the only Planning Consultancy in the “Best Supporting Service” category at the upcoming UK AD & Biogas Industry Awards 2014. In 2013, we worked for 7 operators across 16 sites which include Newcastle in the North East, Somerset in the South West, Norfolk in the East and also in Scotland. During this period we secured Planning Permission for 4 sites, with a combined multi-million pound construction value and permission to process in total 180,000 tonnes per annum of feedstock. GP Planning Ltd’s success included Planning Permissions for Anaerobic Digestion Facilities on behalf of Thames Water Plc/EcoGenR8 Ltd, Biowatt Ltd and Tamar Energy Ltd. We are hopeful that this level of success will continue as we await the determination of Tamar Energy’s AD Facility in Newcastle which is due to be determined by South Tyneside Council in Summer 2014. “Tamar have worked with GP Planning Ltd on a range of projects to deliver AD Facilities across the country. They offer sound, pragmatic planning advice, and engage effectively and constructively with planning issues, delivering work and maintaining flexibility in meeting our deadlines. They have developed a good working knowledge of our business and AD technologies, and are able to provide effective representation of our aims with local authorities, neighbours, and landowners alike. Their ability to provide a consistent point of contact for us as a client is a great asset. The team are a pleasure to do business with.” Mr S Greaves – Tamar Energy Ltd
“When we came to develop our planning application, GP Planning Ltd were a natural choice due to their deep understanding of waste planning policy and practical experience of developing applications for anaerobic digestion plants in particular. GP Planning Ltd were able to understand and interpret the technical aspects of the project for the purpose of planning with minimal guidance – this was invaluable for us as a small business. Their greatest strength is their pragmatic approach; they knew exactly the le vel of detail that was required to satisfy the planning authority without unnecessarily increasing the cost and timeframe to develop the application. As a consequence we were able to secure permission within three months from the date of application.” MS A Field – EcoGenR8 Ltd Our success in the delivery of Anaerobic Digestion Facilities was recognised in the Spring 2014 “Organics Recycling” Publication which featured an article on the subject by our Managing Director, Gill Pawson. The article highlights the key points to consider when preparing a planning application for a commercial food waste facility. Read Gill’s article here. GP Planning Ltd also offers integrated Environmental Permitting advice throughout the project development process to ensure that any development is in line with relevant planning and environmental permitting legislation. A service which is relatively unique within this industry, particularly within SMEs. If you are planning an AD Scheme of your own, we would be delighted to discuss our professional services with you.
