Project>>Planning Application for a Forest Holiday Development

GP Planning Ltd successfully obtained planning permission in November 2015 for a Forest Holiday Development, within Rockingham Forest Park near Kings Cliffe in Northamptonshire. GP Planning Ltd are currently working with the Client to discharge planning conditions associated with the planning permission to facilitate the construction of this prestigious tourist and leisure facility in rural Northamptonshire.

Rockingham Forest Park is an area of 250 hectares of woodland, grassland and agricultural land, situated south of the local road between the settlements of Kings Cliffe and Wansford in East Northamptonshire.   Jacks Green covers an area of open grassland surrounded by large blocks of semi natural ancient woodland to the north, south and east (known as Great Byards Sale, Great Morton Sale and Fair Oak Sale) within the Park. Within Jacks Green is the Great Norton Sale Grassland Local Wildlife Site, together with an overgrown area of track and hardstanding supporting sparse grassland.

The accommodation will comprise 55 sensitively designed holiday lodges and 9 glamping pitches.  The layout of the accommodation and surrounding landscape has been informed by a detailed understanding of the place, the surrounding landscape and in particular the local ecology.

The Forest Holiday Park will be an excellent example of a rural tourism and leisure development which has great potential in delivering economic prosperity to the areas surrounding it.  It will make significant contributions towards improving the Green Infrastructure and biodiversity offer available in the area surrounding Jacks Green and will enable the positive management of the wider Rockingham Forest Park for wildlife and information recreation, through the provision of permissive footpaths, cycle paths and informal play opportunities.
